I am FINALLY moving journals. I've been wanting to move since baseball season ended and I just couldn't come up with a new username and tonight I'm finally making the move.

You can now find me at [info]redsneakers. Sorry, I don't know how to do fancy stuff on here so you're going to have to just add me back the old fashioned way.

Do it, bitches!

Please.

I'm so excited and I'm just so proud of this team. I can't wait to see my first ever Phillies Parade tomorrow. Really my first Philly sports team parade. It's so amazing and it's going to be so much fun. Last night after they won we walked to Frankford and Cottman and just kind of took it all in. The entire walk there people were driving by and honking their horns and screaming and plenty of high fives went out. It was just so exciting and so great, I'm still having trouble believing it happened. After we were done at Frankford and Cottman we walked back to Pokey's to get money and then we walked to Modells where we waited in line for a while just to get in and we all picked our World Series Champion shirts and then stood in a long line inside the store to pay. It was all so worth it.

Hey, why not us? For the first time in my lifetime, why not. I don't believe in a curse and I don't believe in destiny or any of that stuff. That makes it seem like the Phillies aren't the better team. They didn't even play their best baseball in this series and they pulled it out and took advantage of anything they could and they pulled it out and won. They won this because they could. Because the players on this team would put everything they had into it. We left the bases loaded so many times in this series, but when we needed it we got the runs in. Jenkins hadn't had a hit yet in the playoffs and hit a huge double to start off the 6th. Then Rollins delivers the bunt. Werth gets a blooper hit into center field to score the run. Madson comes into the 7th, gets an out, and then gives up a homerun. Homie looked so depressed and so disappointed in himself, but our team picked it up. Romero came in and got the outs we needed. Then the 8th inning comes around and Burrell finally delivers in the world series. I would have loved if it were a foot higher and his last at bat was a homerun, but I'm more than happy to settle for a double. Then we did what we had to do. Bruntlett comes in to pinch run. Shane attempts to bunt and then grounds out to second while moving the runner up. Feliz comes up with Bruntlett on third and gets a single bringing in Bruntlett, the winning run. Ninth inning. Brad Lidge. All throughout the season he was perfect in his saves. He comes in and the look on his face was unlike any I had seen this season. The normal stare down wasn't there. He looked scared. I was scared because of it. But in typical Lidge fashion he gets it done. He gives up a single in the process, but his team behind him comes through. His arm comes through. Swinging strike three to Hinske. Game Over.

The Phillies are the 2008 World Series Champions.
